You’ve just got back from your honeymoon and now you’ve decided you want to store your wedding dress as a keepsake or perhaps as a gift for your future daughter to wear but how do you keep it looking new?

Step 1
Fold the dress carefully without causing any creases in it. Wrap sleeves under the gown and wrap skirt up over the bodice of the dress. Neatly fit into box but remember to keep dress loosly folded as not to cause any creases.

Step 2
Place acid free tissue paper between each of the folds in dress. This will further help to prevent creases and keep fabric from touching other parts of the dress.

Step 3
Wrap the gown completely with (unbleached) muslin. Be sure to cover all parts of your dress but also keep it loose as not to cause creases. Cover box and store in a dark area (closet, under bed, etc).

Tip: Never store your dress in a plastic bag. Plastic bags contain chemicals that can break down over time and stain your dress. Also, the chemical will leave an odor that might not be removed even with dry cleaning. When it is time to take your dress out carefully reverse the steps above.
